Floral And Natural Forms

These are some of the Floral and Natural forms that have interested me from the Task so far,I decided to look at how certain flowers are formed and are clustered together to create a different look.
I particularly like how the blossom trees form as they are built up of single flowers and individual petals to create a larger bunch or cluster. I also love the shapes of the individual flowers which I'm going to incorporate and try out in my ideas.

Yuken Teruya

Yuken Teruya

This unique paper cutting artist would be classed as different to the rest of the usual paper artists about that generally use "paper" as their canvas however Yuken has come out with an alternate option by using Toilet rolls and paper bags.
I found these really inspirational as I can broaden my own ideas and think about using other materials to create various shapes and forms.

Karen Bit Vejles

Karen Bit Vejles

This British Paper Artist has been creating her spectacular paper inventions for over 30 years and has mastered it completely by accomplishing extremely hard tasks.
After looking through various Paper artist and their work,I was most inspired by Vejles amazing illustrations, I couldn't believe the work when I saw these images of her recent designs.Unbelievable!

The paper ballerina illustration is my personal favourite and would love to try something like this out myself.

Research and Inpirations

Rob Ryan
This is one of the most iconic paper cutting artists around,Rob Ryan is well known for his beautiful designs using foliage and natural surroundings. All of his work is delicately cut using scalpels to separate and remove even the tiniest pieces of excess paper/Card.
This individual piece caught my eye for its interesting design and silhouettes backed onto a contrasting sheet of paper.I find that the coloured card creates the mood for the whole piece of work and makes the intricate cut out stand out even more than it would on a white sheet of paper.
A second trait of his that I particularly like is how he uses simple natural sources but interprets them into his work to make it look some sort of fantasy world.

Really Enjoyed checking out this particular page just for "The memory keepers Daughter" Book cover.Personally think its quite interesting as you have to think beyond the image to understand why the creator has used simple objects in certain ways to catch the viewers eye, this makes you as a viewer want to read the book to discover what's going on within.
